Kolkata...My maiden visit

I was hearing about this city since I was a kid, from everyone around ...my dad, uncle, their friends and so many people....

Finally landed up here as a part of my career move...On landing here I as amazed to see such old buildings, i never came across any ting like this in my life....joined my company..met few old friends and started searching for a house. When compared to rent in Bangalore the rent was nothing...but the offerings were..ufffffff...

So old that I can't dare to take them...although the rents were very very low....

Meanwhile I enjoyed the biggest festival of Kolkata.."Durga Puja". The place becomes so lively that you can feel the triumph in air and surroundings. People keep on "hopping pandals" through out the night...u can find modes of communication throughout the night...and everything surprisingly at no extra cost (comparing with 1.5 times meter at Bangalore during night)

Bad part was the handricksaw pullers....i wonder politicians care about PETA but no one looks for them....they all can get a normal cycle ricksaw in the cost of one official flight trip of any MP/MLA..but wonder why they are still there like that??

Food is excellent irrespective of where you are having it, it tastes like heaven everywhere....

You can just roam around with no work, enjoy bhunja, paani poori (phuchka) or samosas on roadside and trust me you'll never be disappointed by the taste here...you get an excellent lemon masala tea for just two rupees (FMCG companies should rethink plan for their similar products) and where ever you try this taste will always be refreshingly same.

I am more than happy to be here and will be exploring the city and people as and when possible!!
